The "D" word

The is one word that seems to put every ones hair on end and when they know it is about to come out of someones mouth the cringe.... DIET!!!! When doctors, friends and family say that word a lot of different things come to mind. It can be South Beach, Weight Watchers, HCG, Low Carb, Low Calories as well as many other tasteless food options that fill our mouths. Changing our mind set is going to be the most important thing. A diet is how you eat. Think about when you explain to kids that certain animals eat certain things. That is their diet. So changing the stigma that goes a long with that word is going to be important.

The hard part though is finding the right way to eat, or diet, for yourself. I simply do not have the answers for you but let me explain to you how it works for me.

I have talked to a friend of my who does nutrition as well as my trainer in the gym. I have a set guidelines that I stay into calorie wise. I write down everything I eat and sent it to my friend Alexis, the nutritionist. That not only keeps me on the right track because I have someone accountable to hold to but she also can give me advice and tips on better choices. One of my favorite things she has said is that I need to eat more!!! Woo hoo! You need to eat or else your body goes into starvation mode.

Diet doesn't have to be a word that scares you is it simply how you eat. How do you eat?
